My June Favourites

Oh gosh, we already went through 6 months of 2017? Thank god for that!
Next year is my birthday month, so I’m excited to just pamper myself, but honestly, my birthday is every day and you should treat everyday as if it’s your birthday!

Anyways, here are my favourites for June!

Beauty and Health products:

Black Activated Charcoal Teeth Whitening Powder
“Brush, rinse, repeat! Brush your way with a whiter smile.” – (Black Bath & Skincare).

I bought mine from the Every Women’s Expo stall that was held recently for $38.50, but you can head on over to their website – Black Bath & Skincare.

5/5 –  This has been working so well for me and my mother! I would love to show you photos of my teeth, but my teeth aren’t straight and I’m not going to do that. But honestly, it has brightened my teeth within one week. All you have to do is apply toothpaste to your toothbrush and dip the activated charcoal powder and brush away! It doesn’t stain, so that’s a plus!

L’Occitane Essential Water
This alcohol-free toner removes traces of make-up and helps to soothe skin. It helps to hydrate and smooth, revealing skin that feels more toned and plump, ready for your daily skincare ritual.

I bought mine from the L’Occitane store in Centro Galleria. The full bottle is around $44.00, but I received mine through travel/sample gift packs for $37.00.

4/5 – This has been so refreshing to me and I use this as a primer before I use my moisturiser and apply make-up. I also use it on days where I’m going make-up free to freshen up my face.

I have done a separate review on this here: L’Occitane Pillow Mist

The Honeycake

This traditional Czech layered delicacy is all handmade from scratch in small batches in our bakery in the heart of Fremantle. – The Honeycake.

They are mainly sold at Fremantle Markets and Sorrento Quay, however, I bought mine from the Every Women Expo a few weeks ago for $5 each.

5/5 – I generally enjoyed every piece that went into my mouth, it was so soft and soothing.

Baked 180 Cupcakes

Baked 180 is located in Girrawheen and the menu changes on a daily basis, oh and of course they also sell coffee! Their cupcakes are $4 each, and their babycakes is $2.20 each, and the good thing is they also make vegan and gluten-free cupcakes too! Ugh, how good is that?

5/5 – I LOVE THESE CUPCAKES and I’m so happy that I discovered them through Yelp! They’re freshly baked and the variety of flavours makes me so happy haha.

The Tiny Thousand Miracles of Living Twice – Katarina West
“Meet Irene Nylander, a frumpy housewife from Finland … and a yo-yo dieter. She feels trapped in an unhappy marriage, looking after her domineering mother-in-law and living vicariously through romantic movies. Meanwhile, in Florence, Mimi Kavanough’s star is rising. She has the body of a Barbie princess, the iron will of an army sergeant – and Hollywood in her sights.” – (Katarina West)

4/5 – I am half way through this book and the more I get into the book, the more I am enjoying it. However, I’m not going to say much because you need to wait for my book review and an interview with Katarina West next month 😛

Strayed Love – Sheleila D’Paiva
“A 30-something woman, Kate, who is trapped in the corporate world with her lawyer boyfriend, finds herself questioning decisions she has made in her past that have led her to such a mundane life…” – (Sheleila D’Paiva)

4/5 – I’m coming to the end of this book and I am so hooked on it! I love books that send out a message and is about finding yourself as an individual, so reading this book has been super empowering. But no, you’ll have to wait for my book review 😛

Treasure Yourself – Miranda Kerr
“A collection of thoughts, memories and lessons that put you on the path to self-improvement. Suitable for young women all over the world, it presents a life story of one of the most successful international models with life lessons that anyone can relate to.”  – (Good Reads).

3.5/5 – I haven’t finished the book just yet, but this has been one of those books that were helping me stay positive when my relationship ended.

TV Shows/Movies:

How to Get Away with Murder
“A group of ambitious law students and their brilliant criminal defence professor become involved in a twisted murder plot that promises to change the course of their lives.” – (IMDB)

4.5/5 – I thoroughly enjoyed this so much! I love a good crime case movie or tv show, and this kept me on the edge of my seat with its different characters and storyline. I am waiting for the next season!
