Save The Children Book Sale

I came across the Book Sale through Career-hubs when there was an advertisement to volunteer for the event. I was thinking about volunteering, but I wasn’t in the right headspace to do so. Instead, I attended the book sale as a customer.

It was either back in March or April where my friend and I attended the book sale. The book sale was held at the HBF Arena in Joondalup. I wasn’t sure what to expect, or how much the books would’ve been, but I went anyways because it was for charity and I love reading.

When I got to the venue, I bought a box full of books because the prices started from $1 to $5, and that’s an awesome price for well-known books or books that are in great condition.

These were the list of books I’ve purchased from March-April Book Sale 2017:

  • The Perks of Being a Wallflower by Stephen Chbosky (click here for my review).
  • Murder in Amsterdam by Ian Buruma
  • Mao’s Last Dancer by Li Cunxin
  • Looking for Alaska by John Green
  • Jasper Jones by Craig Silvey
  • Chinese Cinderella by Adeline Yen Mah
  • All That I Am by Anne Funder

And a few I either can’t remember or took it to a book exchange shop.

This time around, I took my mother to the book sale with me – it’s the one I attended on Saturday. This one is held at UWA (under the clock tower) and for five days (details below).

The books that I bought this time around are:

  • Side Effects May Vary by Julie Murphy
  • Sarah’s Key by Tatiana De Rosnay
  • Guilt By Association by Marcia Clark
  • Testament of Youth by Vera Brittain

And other books I cannot remember off the top of my head!

So if you’re a book lover like I am, please take advantage of this book sale as you’ll find great deals as well as doing good deeds.

There’s another one coming up next month, but it’s in Cannington (so for my people in the South – Details are below).
