Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle

The first Jumanji was released in 1995 with Robin Williams (God bless his work) and I loved the movie SO much and had watched it over 10 times, I pretty much grew up with the movie!

I had received a double pass from RAC, so I decided to take my mum and two cousins with me.

Rating: 5/5

Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle is about “four teenagers that discovers an old video game console and drawn into the game’s jungle setting, becoming the adult avatars they have chosen in order to lift the curse of the game.” (IMDB)

As much as I was looking forward to the new cast of Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle, I was scared it was just going to be a failed re-make and it’ll be a flop. But no, it was AMAZINGGGG!

The cast includes Dwayne Johnson, Kevin Hart, Jack Black, Karen Gillan and Nick Jonas.

Alright, let’s go into more detail.

In 1996, a teenager named Alex was given the Jumanji board game from his father. However, he made a remark saying that nobody plays with board games anymore and the board game magically transformed into a video game, which he got sucked into.

Fast forward to the present, four teenagers had to do detention by cleaning out a room where they discovered an old video game console, the game that was inserted was “Jumanji” (of course).

The group of four teenagers were a self-absorbed hot popular girl Bethany, bookish Martha, nerdy Spencer and football star Fridge.

After they’ve selected their avatars, they were literally drawn into the game. Spencer the nerd transformed into a bulky archeologist Smolder Bravestone, Fridge turns into Bravestone’s sidekick zoologist Moose Finbar, Martha turns into this hot vixen Ruby Roundhouse and Bethany is a cartographer Professor Shelly Overton.

They had to play the game to lift the curse, once they have lifted the curse they can return home. But they must work together before any of them lose all of their three assigned lives.

Now if you need a good laugh, I highly recommend this movie and it will be a 5/5.
However, if you’re a sad little person that is really serious about your movies then it will be 3.5/5.
