Sometimes it’s really hard to shop for your significant other because you’re not too sure if they’re going to like the gift. The best way to get around this is to ask what they like or listen carefully to what they’ve been mentioning to you. I’m going to give you a few ideas that you could give to your long-distance partner, especially since you’re not with them physically.
1. Love Letters
Personally, I’m a sucker for love letters, I love the whole vibe of writing and actually talking about my feelings in a letter (it’s cute)! Also just being able to post it out to your partner and them receiving it through the mail is pretty awesome in this generation 😛
2. Care Package
I love making care packages because they’re sentimental. You can make it depending on the occasion as well and it’s just a great way to show your partner that you care for them, regardless of the distance.
Here are some of the things you can add:
- Vitamins and medication
I’m a cute girlfriend because I always want my man to be healthy, so I always like to include vitamins or medication that they may need.
- His/her favourite snacks
I always tend to add snacks that cannot be purchased from where they live.
You can add CDs of their favourite artist or even add all your favourite songs onto a CD or USB.
Add photos of yourself or photos of you both!
Depending on their needs, the location and the weather you can customise what sort of clothing items to add. You can never go wrong with a t-shirt or some socks!
You can never go wrong with jewellery pieces and again that can be sentimental. As a girl, I’m a sucker for rings and necklaces (take a look at Pandora or Swarovski). But if I were to give my boyfriend that had to do with jewellery pieces, I would consider earrings (if they got it pierced), a chain necklace, a watch, cufflinks etc.
Another item you can’t go wrong with is shoes – just know their correct size of course (take a look at Footlocker if they’re a sneakerhead!)
If your partner loves to read this would be a great gift! Here are some recommendations:
- Side Effects May Vary – Julie Murphy
- Strayed Love – Sheleila D’Paiva
- The Perks of Being a Wallflower – Stephen Chbosky
- If I Forget You – T.C. Greene
- MaKara: A Taste of Freedom – Douglas Cooney
- Sarah’s Key – Tatiana de Rosnay
- Me Before You – Jojo Moyes
You can always stick to the traditional gifts and get chocolates, how about a bouquet of chocolates or chocolate covered fruits? Find out the places that do delivery over there.
Another simple thing you can do is also get a bouquet of flowers, again find out a place that does delivery.
This is also one of my favourite gifts as well, like hello it’s food, you can indulge in it! But there are so many cute designs to choose from and there are so many places that offer delivery!
But if you’re single, then go out and buy things for yourself – spoil yourself!
But if you’re also open to going on a date, here are a few sites that may be able to help you out (most of them are based in the UK):
I hope this helped! x
